Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver from chronic disease. Other than alcohol abuse and hepatitis, several other conditions can lead to cirrhosis. Listed below are some initial tests for evaluation. Please consider an official gastroenterology consult.

Evaluate for Hepatitis B:
Hepatitis B Core Antibody, Total
Hep B Surface Ab

Evaluate for Hepatitis C Virus:
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Heptimax

Evaluate for autoimmune hepatitis:
Antinuclear Antibodies Direct
Actin smooth muscle Ab
Immunoglobulin G, Quantitative, Serum
Immunoglobulin M, Quantitative, Serum

Evaluate for Wilsons disease:
Ceruloplasmin

Evaluate for hepatocellular carcinoma:
ALPHA FETOPROTEIN, TUMOR MARKER
