Type A Ring - muscular ring several centimeters proximal to squamocolumnar junction.

Type B Ring - Schatzki ring, typically located at the squamocolumnar junction. proximal margin of a hiatal hernia, only composed of mucosa and submucosa.

Type C Ring - indentation caused by diaphragmatic crura, rarely symptomatic
